Short Update
Maharashtra fixes PET-CT and contrast rates; eligible patients get tests free

Maharashtra has fixed rates for PET-CT scans and CT/MRI contrast at government medical colleges and hospitals. Eligible patients will get prescribed investigations free.
Paying patients will pay ₹10,250 for a whole-body PET-CT scan, with or without intravenous contrast. This includes FDG and is 50% below the ₹20,500 package rate under Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY). CT contrast costs ₹420 for 50 ml and ₹830 for 100 ml. Ten ml of gadolinium-based MRI contrast costs ₹950.
Eligible patients, including people covered by MJPJAY and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, get the specified tests free. Other patients pay at the hospital billing desk; sponsored or referred patients pay the rates in agreements with service providers. Patients and relatives cannot pay private providers directly, in cash or online; violations could lead to action under the agreement. Hospitals must display rates and payment procedures in Marathi and English. The order takes immediate effect and applies to PET-CT facilities under the PPP model at government medical colleges and hospitals.
