Varanasi ranks sixth in Uttar Pradesh under Janani Suraksha Yojana. The scheme has successfully paid 12,744 eligible people. District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar reviewed how the health department is doing. He gave clear instructions to pay all pending amounts at hospitals without delay.

During the meeting, officials received orders to improve how health schemes work. 290 ASHA workers did not help with any deliveries under the scheme. The administration ordered formal notices against them. Officials are also focusing on breast cancer screenings through Namo Shakti Rath. They are also fixing gaps in the local vaccination program to reach more people in every gram sabha.
