Punjab Women Empowerment Schemes Benefit 65 Lakh Beneficiaries

Punjab government has reached over 65 lakh women through its welfare schemes, specifically under Mukh Maantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojana. During a recent Punjab Vidhan Sabha session, Social Security Minister Dr Baljit Kaur noted that these efforts help women gain respect, independence, and active social participation across the state.

Apart from direct money help, the state helps with travel through free bus rides and supports elderly women with CM Teerth Yatra Scheme. Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond also mentioned that strengthening self-help groups is a main way to help women become financially independent. The government continues to focus on long-term support by creating equal opportunities in education, work, and public life.
