Punjab Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana Hits 6 Lakh Treatments Milestone

Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana in Punjab has helped over 6 lakh families get cashless treatment. This scheme provides yearly cover of ₹10 lakh for each family so everyone can afford medical care.

## Scheme progress and coverage

Records show 880 hospitals are part of the scheme. Private hospitals handled 3,36,161 cases, and government hospitals treated 2,70,731 patients. The scheme is very important for expensive treatments, including 60,504 cancer cases and almost 2 lakh dialysis sessions. Many people also used the scheme for orthopaedic care, like knee and hip replacements.

State Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said the scheme now covers 17 extra medical procedures at private hospitals. Patiala and Bathinda districts saw the most patients and spending. For many families, this support reduces the money problems caused by serious illnesses.
