NAMASTE Scheme Empowers Sanitation Worker Kapil Pal

Kapil Pal, a 32-year-old sanitation worker from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, improved his income through Swachhta Udyami Yojana, which is part of the NAMASTE scheme. He got support on 21 September 2021 and bought a tractor-cum-suction machine to provide mechanical sewer and septic tank cleaning services.

The project cost ₹8.90 lakh. This amount included a loan of ₹5,42,500 and a subsidy of ₹3,47,500. Working with Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad, Kapil now earns between ₹35,000 and ₹40,000 every month.

How support helps families

This steady income helped him pay for his recent back surgery and cover his family expenses, including his children's school fees. Mechanisation has improved his social standing and gave him financial independence.
