Milk supply halted for 5,500 children in Vadodara due to payment dispute
About 5,500 children at 400 anganwadi centres in Vadodara did not get fortified Sanjeevani milk for a week in September 2026. This happened because the local Integrated Child Development Services administration and the dairy supplier had a payment disagreement.
Scheme details
Milk comes under Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana, which gives fortified, flavoured milk to children and pregnant or lactating women. Gujarat Women and Child Development Department funds the scheme, and local municipal bodies certify deliveries and pay dairy cooperatives.
