Madhya Pradesh to transfer Rs 502 crore to 20,456 private schools under RTE fee reimbursement scheme

Madhya Pradesh will release Rs 502 crore in RTE fee reimbursement to 20,456 private schools for the 2024-25 academic year.

The payment will help more than 8.19 lakh students from poor and disadvantaged families studying in private schools under RTE rules. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will attend a special programme in Narsinghpur district. The money will be sent through a single-click transaction.

Previous releases under RTE

Since 2011, the state government has released more than Rs 3,600 crore as fee reimbursement for over 16.85 lakh students.

Under the RTE Act, eligible children from poor and disadvantaged families can get free admission to private schools from Class 1 to Class 8. The government pays the applicable fees directly to the private schools.
