Gujarat Schools May Ban Junk Food Near Premises

School heads in Gujarat have asked the government to ban junk food shops within 100 metres of schools. This plan helps keep children away from health problems by encouraging better food choices. Separately, the Gujarat government is starting a state-level unit to manage the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana. This team will track the scheme and make sure it works well across the state, following guidance from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
