Goa Launches New Rooftop Solar Subsidy Scheme

Goa government launched Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar Promotion Scheme to help more people use solar energy. This scheme runs from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028. It gives extra state money on top of the benefits from PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
Solar Subsidy Details
Homeowners can get a subsidy for half the benchmark cost for systems up to 10 kWp. This state support gives you ₹20,000 for a 1 kW system. It goes up to ₹2.20 lakh for a 10 kW setup. Group housing societies, resident welfare associations, and schools also get a 50 percent subsidy for projects up to 90 kWp. This is set at ₹22,500 per kW. Commercial and industrial units get a 20 percent subsidy. This is limited to ₹9,000 per kW for projects up to 90 kWp.
You must use vendors approved by the central scheme and Goa Energy Development Agency. The state wants to reach a 65 MW capacity target for the 2026-27 financial year.
