EPFO WhatsApp channel has two lakh subscribers; September ECR filing extended to October 31, 2026

EPFO's official WhatsApp channel has reached two lakh subscribers, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation said in a tweet. The channel shares news about the Employees' Provident Fund, Employees' Pension Scheme and Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance scheme.

The channel posts scheme updates, deadlines, decisions and details of Nidhi Aapke Nikat camps held to settle members' complaints. It also shares tutorial links, including YouTube videos on EPF advance withdrawal and contributions after the payment process under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana.

Employees and employers can join the EPFO WhatsApp channel. The channel gives information only. EPF, EPS and EDLI tasks have to be done on the EPFO portal, the Umang app or at a regional EPF office.

ECR filing date for employers

EPFO extended the last date for employers to file the Electronic Challan Cum Return (ECR) for September 2026 from October 15 to October 31, 2026. It said in a tweet dated October 14 that more time was needed due to the revision of the wage ceiling. The ECR is a monthly return filed on the EPFO portal with member-wise wage and contribution details for EPF, EPS and EDLI.
