AVYAY supports 764 Senior Citizen Homes, says report
Under Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY), Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens gives grants to eligible NGOs, State Governments, Panchayati Raj Institutions and local bodies to run senior care facilities, including shelter and care for indigent senior citizens. Odisha Diary reports that the programme supports 764 Senior Citizen Homes, 13 Continuous Care Homes, 17 Mobile Medicare Units and 3 Physiotherapy Clinics.
The report says each designated Regional Resource and Training Centre receives ₹19.58 lakh a year for training, research, outreach and related work. Details are on the official AVYAY scheme page.
