Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal has opened the state's first Annapurti grain ATM in Nashik, as per reports on 17 October 2026. Maharashtra ration card holders can now collect their grain from the machine at any hour.

A thumb impression on the e-PoS system confirms the beneficiary, and grain comes out in about 35 seconds. The machine holds 25 quintals at a time. Antyodaya families get 35 kg, and priority household members get 5 kg each.

You'll find it at Distillery Quarters on Gorewadi Road in Nashik Road, near the Divisional Commissioner's office. It was set up with the UN World Food Programme. Thane and Nagpur get the next machines, and more will come up across Nashik district in phases. Bhujbal also said people with government jobs or vehicles are being removed from the ration list.
