AI Integration Boosts India Skill Development Ecosystem
Government work to modernize training is showing results. As of August 6, 2026, Skilling for AI Readiness (SOAR) has reached 5,17,477 enrolments with 1,00,664 learners certified. This scheme helps add artificial intelligence to the national curriculum.
Training for future skills
Under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, over 3.73 lakh people finished training in skills like data science, robotics, and cybersecurity. Also, the government approved PM-SETU with a ₹60,000 crore budget to upgrade 1,000 Industrial Training Institutes. These upgrades focus on industry training to help the workforce stay competitive.
