RMEWF-Financial Assistance to 100 Percent Disabled Child of Ex-Servicemen aims to provide financial support to Ex-Servicemen or their widows who are raising a child with 100 percent disability. This scheme is specifically made for those holding the rank of Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) or equivalent in the Navy/Air Force and below, provided they do not receive similar benefits from any other official agency.

Eligible families receive ₹3,000 per month, which is paid out annually to support the care of the child. Please note that this benefit is non-transferable and finishes automatically if the child passes away.

Eligibility

To qualify for this support, you should meet the following criteria:

1. The child must be the legitimate offspring of an Ex-Serviceman or widow.
2. The Ex-Serviceman must hold the rank of JCO or equivalent in the Navy/Air Force or below.
3. The child must have a 100 percent certified disability.
4. You should not be receiving any other disability benefits from an official government agency.
5. Your application must be recommended by your local Zila Sainik Board (ZSB).

Application Process

You should follow these steps to apply for the scheme:

1. Visit the official Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat (KSBS) portal at https://ksb.gov.in/.
2. Register on the homepage and complete the digital application form.
3. Upload your photograph and save the information to receive your login credentials via email.
4. Log in to the portal using your username, password, and the verification code.
5. Select the scheme and fill in the details. You should upload copies of all required documents attested by your Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO).
6. Once you submit the online application, your ZSWO will verify your details and schedule an appointment if necessary.
7. After successful verification, the ZSWO will forward your application to the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) via the Rajya Sainik Boards (RSBs).

Processing and Payment: Once your application arrives at the KSB, the section in charge verifies it for the approval of the JD (Welfare). After approval, the welfare department processes payments in batches of 200. Funds are transferred directly to your bank account via the Electronic Clearing System (ECS) or account payee cheque.

Renewal: Once the grant is approved, it stays valid for the lifetime of the 100 percent disabled child. No fresh application is needed after that. To keep getting the grant each financial year, the person applying for the beneficiary must submit a life certificate online, countersigned by the concerned Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO), between 1 December and 31 March of the current financial year. The web portal does not accept the renewal application after 31 March. Applications for any missed financial year are not accepted.

What is the validity of this scheme?
