Gaon Ki Beti Yojana 2026 Registration, Eligibility and Scholarship Amount

Category:   Tags: , ,

Gaon Ki Beti Yojana registration for the 2025-26 session is running on Madhya Pradesh State Scholarship Portal 2.0, and rural girl students who passed Class 12 with first division can apply online at hescholarship.mp.gov.in. Selected students get ₹500 per month for 10 months in a year, which comes to ₹5,000 in an academic year.

Higher Education Department of Madhya Pradesh runs this scholarship since 2005. Money reaches the student bank account through DBT payment, so no office visit is needed after the form is checked by the college.

Gaon Ki Beti Yojana Online Registration 2026

Registration and renewal both happen on the same portal. Old portal address scholarshipportal.mp.nic.in no longer works, so any bookmark of that address should be changed. New address is MP State Scholarship Portal 2.0. One more thing changed on the new portal: e-KYC check comes first, before the registration form opens.

Steps are given below.

STEP 1 - Open hescholarship.mp.gov.in and go to the section named Schemes of Higher Education Dept. Click on Registration (Old/New) for Gaon Ki Beti Yojna.

STEP 2 - Enter your Samagra ID and Aadhaar number for the e-KYC check. Name, date of birth and other details are picked automatically from Samagra records, so keep the mobile number linked with Aadhaar handy for OTP.

STEP 3 - Fill the registration form with Class 12 roll number, board name, marks, college code and course details. Choose Gaon Ki Beti as the scheme name, not Pratibha Kiran, because both open from the same page.

STEP 4 - Enter bank account number and IFSC code carefully. Account should be in the student name and linked with Aadhaar, otherwise payment fails later.

STEP 5 - Submit the form and note down the registration ID shown on the screen. Use that ID at student login to check status and to renew next year.

STEP 6 - Give a printout of the form with required documents to your college office. College approval is required, and payment starts only after the college forwards the application.

Who Can Apply

Rules are simple, but the rural residence part is checked strictly. Girls studying in a college or university course after Class 12 can apply if they meet the points below.

  • Student must be a girl from a rural area of Madhya Pradesh, and the Class 12 school should also be in a village area.
  • Class 12 marks should be 60% or more, from MP Board or CBSE or ICSE.
  • Admission should be taken in a regular course of graduation or higher study in a recognised college.
  • Gaon Ki Beti certificate from the gram panchayat or the school is required as proof of rural background.

Scholarship Amount and Payment

Amount is ₹500 per month and it is paid for 10 months of the academic session, so a student gets ₹5,000 in one year. Payment is sent in one or two instalments in most cases, not every month, and it depends on when the college approves the list. Benefit continues for the full course if the student keeps renewing the form each year and stays regular in the same course.

Only one scholarship of this type is allowed at a time. If a student is already getting Pratibha Kiran Yojana or a post matric scholarship, she cannot take Gaon Ki Beti money for the same year.

Documents Required

Keep soft copies ready before starting the form, because the portal asks for uploads during registration.

  • Class 12 marksheet showing 60% or more marks
  • Gaon Ki Beti certificate signed by the gram panchayat or school head
  • Samagra ID and Aadhaar card of the student
  • Domicile certificate of Madhya Pradesh
  • Caste certificate, if the student belongs to SC, ST or OBC
  • Bank passbook copy with account number and IFSC in the student name
  • College admission proof with college code and course code
  • Passport size photo, mobile number and email ID

Application Status and Renewal

Status can be checked any time from the student login page using the registration ID. Portal shows where the file is stuck, whether it is pending at college level or approved for payment. If the status stays pending for long, contact the college scholarship clerk first, since most delays happen at college verification.

Renewal is for students already approved in the last session. Same login is used, marks of the previous year are added, and the college checks it again. Students who fail a year or change the course have to be careful, because renewal can be rejected in such cases.
