PM Awas Yojana (Gramin) – Current Status
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) is a government initiative to provide affordable housing for rural populations in India. As per the table, out of the target of 29,500,000 houses, a total of 26,024,050 have been completed, which equates to an overall completion rate of 88.22%. States such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have the highest completion rates, with 98.31% and 98.15% respectively, demonstrating significant progress in achieving the housing goals set by the scheme. Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, and Sikkim are among other high-performing states with completion rates above 90%.
However, some states still face challenges in meeting their targets. Notably, states like Telangana and Puducherry have not reported any completed houses against their targets, indicating potential hurdles in implementation. Manipur and Meghalaya are also lagging behind with completion rates of 22.98% and 29.84%, respectively. This disparity in completion rates across states suggests the need for targeted interventions and support to ensure consistent progress across the country.
