Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has launched the Nethanna Bharosa Scheme for the handloom sector and weaver families in the state. Under this scheme, every handloom family will get ₹25,000 annual assistance, along with free electricity, GST reimbursement, new handloom clusters, and some other benefits.
This Nethanna Bharosa scheme marks the government’s strong commitment to revive the traditional handloom sector, double weavers’ income, and give respect to Andhra’s weavers and artisans. The scheme was announced on National Handloom Day 2025 at Mangalagiri, and will benefit over 1.43 lakh handloom families across Andhra Pradesh.
What is Nethanna Bharosa Scheme?
Nethanna Bharosa is a special welfare scheme by the Andhra Pradesh government to directly support handloom weavers. Every registered handloom family will receive ₹25,000 every year as financial aid. The scheme also brings other benefits like free electricity, GST reimbursement, thrift funds, new market linkages, and special initiatives for women weavers. The goal of this Nethanna Bharosa Scheme is to double the weavers’ income, while keeping the rich handloom tradition alive, and improve the living conditions of lakhs of families.

Who Can Apply for Nethanna Bharosa Scheme?
- Any handloom weaver family living in Andhra Pradesh.
- Must be registered with handloom department / APCO.
- Must have valid proof as a handloom weaver (membership card, ID, etc.).
- Families already listed as handloom beneficiaries are directly eligible.
- New applicants may have to provide basic documents and verification as per updated guidelines
How to Apply for Nethanna Bharosa Scheme?
For already registered handloom families, there is no need to re-apply. The benefit will be credited directly to the bank account linked with their registration.
New Applicants first need to get themselves registered as a handloom weaver with the department and become member of the handloom weaver society in Andhra Pradesh. You can visit the official Andhra Pradesh Handloom Department or APCO website for registration.
