NAMO E-Tablet Yojana Gujarat 2025 – Online Registration, Eligibility, Tablet Specifications & Latest Status

Namo E Tablet Scheme

Gujarat government is running the NAMO E-Tablet Yojana to help students with digital education. Under this scheme, eligible students can get a branded Acer or Lenovo tablet by paying only ₹1,000. The main aim of this NAMO E-Tablet Yojana is to support higher education with modern technology at a very low cost.

The scheme started on 17 July 2017 and is still active in 2025. Every year, nearly 3 lakh meritorious students are targeted for this benefit. Even though there are reports of some delay in tablet distribution, the government has confirmed that funds are regularly allocated for it.

Current Status and Budget Allocation for NAMO E-Tablet Yojana

This scheme seems active only on paper, no recent updates about it from the government. Some information in this article might not be relevant anymore.

As of September 2025, the scheme is still active with government budget support but the government has not released any official updates about the scheme, so its seems to be active just on papers, not on the ground. Earlier, ₹252 crore was allocated in 2019-20 and ₹200 crore in 2022-23. Till now, more than 3 lakh students have already received tablets under this scheme.

However, a Gujarat Samachar report in March 2025 mentioned some delays in supply and fund release, which made people think the scheme is closed. But the Gujarat Education Department has confirmed that the scheme is not closed, only some distribution is pending.

Gujarat government also planned to replace the tablets with the laptops under this scheme but that seems not to have worked either.

The state government is already running a separate laptop sahay yojana to provide financial assistance to students to buy laptops for higher studies.

Students studying in the first year of college or polytechnic courses can apply online through the official Digital Gujarat Portal (digitalgujarat.gov.in) or submit details through their colleges. Tablets are given with useful features like 2GB RAM, HD display, and 4G connectivity.

This scheme is linked to the Mukhyamantri Swavlamban Yojana, which helps poor families and bright students with financial and educational support.
