Punjab Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana (AB-PMJAY MMSBY) 2026: Ayushman Bharat PMJAY Mukh-Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana 2026 has been launched by the Punjab government. AB-PMJAY MMSBY is providing financial protection to 100% population of state of Punjab. Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Scheme is entitlement based cashless health insurance cover of Rs. 10 Lakh per family per year. Under this scheme, cashless and paperless treatment is available at government and empanelled private hospitals. Latest Update - Sehat Bima Yojana Extended
Punjab government has extended the scheme by making several changes to the Sehat Bima Yojana, here are the key changes made:
- Eligibility Expanded: The scheme has been broadened to include coverage for single individuals.
- 17 New Procedures Added: Patients can now receive treatment for 17 additional medical procedures at empanelled private hospitals.
- ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat): New inclusions cover nasal bone fracture reduction and adenoidectomy.
- General Surgery: Added procedures include hydrocele surgery, abscess treatment, appendectomy, and both open and laparoscopic gallbladder surgeries.
- Regulated Costs: The package rates for these newly approved procedures have been capped between ₹2,000 and ₹27,800.
These expansions are designed to reduce the burden on major government hospitals, shorten wait times, and allow patients to receive timely treatment closer to home.

Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana was announced by the Chief Minister of Punjab. The main motive through the implementation of the scheme is to provide cashless treatment to all of the residents of Punjab state. - Significance – MMSSBY Scheme will cover 100% of population of state in comparison to 12% covered under PMJAY scheme. Similar schemes in other states only covers around 30% of state’s population.
