Mid Day Meal Scheme
The name of the Mid Day Meal Scheme has been changed to Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana (PM-POSHAN). In this scheme, the central govt. provides healthy and nutritious food to children. This is a Centrally-Sponsored Scheme which covers all school children studying in Classes 1st to 8th in government, government-aided Schools.
Central Assistance under the Mid May Meal scheme consists of free supply of food grains, subsidy on transportation cost, cooking cost, management, monitoring and evaluation costs.
