Tripura Kishori Suchita Abhiyan 2024
The main objective of Tripura Kishori Suchita Abhiyan or Free Sanitary Napkin Scheme 2024 is to enable free distribution of sanitary pads to girl students. The Free Sanitary Pad Yojana is an attempt to normalize public debates about menstrual hygiene. This is a good initiative of the government because menstrual hygiene is every girl’s right.
Menstrual Hygiene Awareness through Muft Sanitary Pad Yojana
This Tripura Free Sanitary Napkin Scheme will also help raise the awareness about the need for menstrual hygiene. Muft Sanitary Pad Yojana is the battle for last mile menstrual hygiene in Tripura. Along with the Free Sanitary Napkin Scheme, the government will conduct awareness camps in various schools for boys to create a healthy mindset on menstruation in the opposite sex. The government will also make sanitary pads easily accessible to the girls in the schools.
Cabinet Approval for Tripura Free Sanitary Napkin Scheme
Tripura Cabinet on 20 January 2021 has given approval for providing free sanitary napkins among all school girls from class 6 to 12 to enhance female menstrual hygiene. A total of 1,68,252 students shall be covered under this new scheme called Kishori Suchita Abhiyan. This will involve an investment of Rs. 3,61,63,248 from the state’s exchequer during a period of three years.
Tripura Policy on School Bag 2020
Tripura state education department has also adopted the Policy On School Bag 2020 in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of School Education and Literacy of Education Ministry. The state govt. informed that the COVID-situation in the state is fast improving and at present only five patients are under treatment at the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital. However, 32 people are under home isolation.
The positivity rate on 19 January 2021 had come down to 0.12 per cent and there has been no report of deaths due to COVID-19 in the state during the last 4 days. He further said that till date, 4269 healthcare workers have been vaccinated and there is no report of any side effect.
