Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme 2024 Guidelines available to download in PDF format at wcd.nic.in. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana scheme was launched on 22 January 2015 by PM Narendra Modi. This scheme aims to address the issue of the declining child sex ratio (CSR). BBBP is a national initiative jointly run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme refers to “Save the Girls, Educate the Girls”. BBBP scheme aims to educate citizens against gender bias and improve efficacy of welfare services for girls. It would address concerns of gender discrimination and women empowerment in the country.
Objectives of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme
The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana aims to achieve the following goals:-
- Improvement in child sex ratio
- Ensuring gender equality and women empowerment
- Preventing gender-biased, sex selective elimination
- Ensuring survival and protection of the girl child
- Encouraging education and participation of the girl child
