PARIVARTAN Scheme Launched to Replace Old Commercial Vehicles in Delhi-NCR

Central Government launched PARIVARTAN scheme to replace old, polluting trucks and buses in Delhi-NCR. It aims to clean the air by targeting about 2 lakh commercial vehicles registered before April 30, 2026, that meet BS-IV or older rules. This voluntary scheme offers tax breaks, discounts from vehicle makers, interest subsidies, and fuel vouchers.

How to get benefits

Eligible people can get benefits through a single website. It connects banks, fuel companies, and vehicle makers. Depending on the vehicle type, total help can cover 25 to 30 percent of the showroom price.

For example, non-EV truck benefits range from about ₹2.78 lakh to ₹11.10 lakh. EV incentives for larger vehicles can reach up to ₹37.45 lakh. Vehicle makers must offer at least an 8 percent discount on new purchases.

Government plans to replace over 2.23 lakh vehicles within two years. By late August 2026, over 1,450 people registered, and 1,357 vehicles were processed. While this will not fix winter air quality right away, officials expect clear environmental improvements by next year.
