Delhi Government Announces Rs 1 Crore Prize for Cleanest Ward

Delhi government launched Delhi Ko Kude Se Azadi-Swachhta Abhiyan 2026. This two-month cleanliness drive runs until October 2. The scheme aims to improve waste management in the city. It focuses on cleaning garbage spots, sorting waste, and using better processing methods.

Ward competition details

A main part of this campaign is a ward-level competition. The best ward each month will get Rs 1 crore from Chief Minister's development funds. An independent agency will judge performance using official reports and public feedback. Keep in mind that confirmed garbage complaints can cause a ward to be disqualified.

The campaign focuses on four main goals: collection, cleaning, conversion, and circular economy. Activities include removing green waste from September 1 to 10. A Mera School, Sabse Sundar competition for government schools starts on September 17. Urban development minister Ashish Sood and Mayor Pravesh Wahi are coordinating the work to improve sanitation and keep public spaces clean.
