The state government of Haryana has announced Vidhur Pension Yojana for the widowers in the state. The scheme will be implemented in the coming financial year. The scheme was announced by the Chief Minister of Haryana shri Manohar Lal Khattar in state’s financial budget 2017-18.
The scheme was launched after some people raised the issue at CM window that person who have lost their wives should also be given pension on the lines of widow pension scheme currently being run in the state. MLA of Machroli, Mr. Ravindra urged chief minister to announce such a pension scheme for the widowers as well.
The state government has approved the Vidhur Pension Yojana which will be implemented from the next financial year. The scheme was launched to prove right to equality a correct statement. If women can get pension after death of their life partner why not men.
Under the widow pension scheme, the state government is providing a monthly pension of Rs. 1600 to widows and same amount will be given to widower (Man who have lost his wife) under the Vidhur Pension Yojana.
The state of Haryana would be the first to launch such a scheme for men. The government would soon issue directives to the officials to launch the scheme in the entire state from next financial year.
