West Bengal Holds Vendor Meet for PM-Surya Ghar Scheme

WBSEDCL and REC Limited held a National Vendor Meet in Kolkata on August 13, 2026. This meeting helped focus on the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana across West Bengal. Santanu Basu, IAS, led the session. It brought together people involved to discuss problems with rooftop solar installation.

Officials talked about ways to improve solar plant quality. They also discussed growing vendor networks and providing better training for partners. REC works as the National Programme Implementation Agency. It supports DISCOMs and families to meet the national goal of covering one crore households.

Residential consumers can apply through the official website. They can choose registered vendors there and get the central subsidy.
