Varanasi Health Schemes Review and Performance Update

Varanasi District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar held a review meeting on August 25, 2026, to look into health services in the district. Varanasi holds the fifth position on the Uttar Pradesh Health Dashboard now.

Officials confirmed that 12,744 people received payments under the Janani Suraksha Yojana. The district ranks sixth in the state for this specific metric. The DM ordered the immediate payment of all pending amounts at medical centers.

Also, 290 ASHA workers who did not manage deliveries under the scheme will get official notices. The administration is working to reach full vaccination coverage for children. It is also increasing breast cancer screenings through the Namo Shakti Rath.

Other schemes under the National Health Mission, like the TB-Free India Campaign and National Child Health Programme, are under strict monitoring. This is to make sure teams meet targets on time.
