Uttarakhand CM Approves Rs 74 Crore for Disaster Relief and Infrastructure

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami approved a Rs 74 crore package to support disaster management and infrastructure in the state. This funding will help repair damaged schools, fix road links, and improve flood protection.

Breakdown of funds

The state will use these funds to improve safety and services across several regions. Key parts of the plan include:

• Rs 30 crore for school repairs under the Secondary and Elementary Education departments from the State Disaster Response Fund.
• Rs 8.91 crore to build a new helipad in Bageshwar.
• Rs 4.99 crore for sewer-line work in Gangotri Dham.
• Extra money for disaster preparedness in eight districts, including Uttarkashi and Chamoli.
• Over Rs 8 crore for flood prevention projects near the Jagbuda river and Khatima block.
• Rs 2 crore set aside to maintain earthquake warning systems and satellite phones for better emergency communication.
