Uttarakhand CM Announces Free Bus Travel and Enhanced Loan Limits for Women

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched new support for women across the state. One key change is that free travel on Roadways buses is now available for women aged 60 and above. The previous age limit was 65 years. The state is also starting Pink e-Buses in Dehradun, with 10 vehicles reserved for women under the Prime Minister e-Bus Service.

Business support for women

Financial help for female business owners is also increasing. The loan limit under the Women Self-Employment Scheme has gone up from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh. Also, self-help groups can get interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh for their businesses. These updates join existing schemes like the Nanda Gaura Yojana and the Mahalakshmi Kit Scheme. The state continues to work toward increasing the number of Lakhpati Didis.
