Uttar Pradesh Launches Lifetime Free Bus Travel for Senior Women

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yojana. This scheme gives women aged 60 and above free travel on ordinary Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses for their lifetime.

Eligible women can get this benefit by using special smart cards. They need an Aadhaar card or voter ID to sign up.

Scheme details

The state government expects to spend Rs 22.5 crore every month to run this scheme. More than one crore women are expected to get this help.

Also, to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, all women in the state can travel for free on UPSRTC buses. This offer runs from 6 am on 27 August until midnight on 29 August.
