Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Approves 25 Lakh Free Tablets for Youth

Uttar Pradesh government approved buying 25 lakh tablets for free distribution to eligible students. This happens under Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, with a budget of ₹2,374.60 crore set for the 2026-27 financial year.

This five-year scheme helps reduce the digital gap by giving devices to youth in undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and skill training courses. Tablets help students use online study materials, training, and job services easily.

Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna mentioned that this decision helps improve job prospects for skilled youth in higher education, technical, and health fields. Government policy helps the workforce by giving easy access to digital tools. Better chances for work and career growth follow this, matching other women welfare schemes and youth development plans.
