Uttar Pradesh Aggregator Policy 2026 Implemented

Yogi Government officially launched Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicles (Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider) Rules, 2026 to regulate app-based transport and logistics services. These rules bring order to the sector by making driver verification, police checks, and psychological testing mandatory. Passengers now have protection against surge pricing, as dynamic fares cannot exceed 50% above the base rate.

Driver welfare and passenger safety

The rules focus on welfare for workers. Drivers can now get Rs 5 lakh health insurance and Rs 10 lakh term insurance. Also, passengers are protected by a Rs 100 penalty rule if a driver cancels a booking after accepting it. The government introduced the UP My Fleet portal to monitor compliance and track the shift to electric vehicles. Over 3.15 lakh vehicles are already registered on the platform. Aggregators must now appoint a Grievance Redressal Officer to handle user complaints.
