UP Government Launches Free Bus Travel for Women Over 60

Uttar Pradesh government launched free travel for women aged 60 and above in ordinary UPSRTC buses. From August 28, 2026, eligible women get this benefit under Lokmata Ahilyabai Matru Shakti Yatra Yojana. You do not need a smart card yet. Just show your Aadhaar Card or Voter ID to the bus conductor to verify your age.

Travel process details

The conductor will give you a zero-value ticket using the ETIM machine for your trip. This applies to both corporation-operated and contracted ordinary buses. Although the government plans to issue smart cards later, they are not required to travel right now. Regional officers are checking the process to make sure no fare is taken from eligible passengers by mistake.
