Union Ministry launches ninth National Poshan Maah 2026 in Varanasi

Union Ministry of Women and Child Development launched ninth National Poshan Maah 2026 on September 9, 2026, in Varanasi. This month-long campaign works under the theme, Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Zimmedari, which focuses on community ownership of Anganwadi Centres.

Revised guidelines and objectives

Campaign activities follow revised Supplementary Nutrition Programme guidelines under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. Rules mandate display of menu boards, define hot cooked meals, and require forming Anganwadi Management Committees. Activities include healthy recipe demonstrations, Poshan Melas, and a drive to track developmental milestones for children up to three years old.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. Campaign plans include a nationwide drive to enrol eligible pregnant and lactating women to speed up benefit delivery under the scheme.
