Union Minister Reviews Women and Child Development Schemes in West Bengal

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi led a review meeting in Kolkata on August 20, 2026. The meeting looked at how state welfare schemes work in West Bengal. Minister Annpurna Devi said that review meetings must lead to clear results to support the goal of women-led development.

Progress of welfare schemes

The meeting looked at the progress of Mission Shakti, Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, and Mission Vatsalya. Officials also checked the digital setup of the Poshan Tracker and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana portal to make monitoring clear. Minister of State Savitri Thakur, state officials, and representatives from the health and welfare departments attended the meeting.
