Union Minister Reviews Mission Shakti and Women Welfare Schemes

Union Minister of Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi held a meeting in Kolkata to check the progress of Mission Shakti. The meeting covered main parts like One Stop Centres, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), and the Hub for Empowerment of Women.

Progress of women support schemes

The Minister stated that 991 One Stop Centres are working across the country. These centers have helped over 15.20 lakh women. Regarding PMMVY, eligible mothers get a cash benefit of ₹5,000 for their first child. Mothers get an extra ₹6,000 for a second child if it is a girl. This encourages a positive view toward girl children. The government continues to focus on these schemes to help keep women safe and support them across India.
