Telangana Distributes Rs 50,000 Each to 278 Minority Widows for Self Employment

Telangana government has distributed Rs 50,000 each to 278 minority widows under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana. Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin handed over cheques in Rangareddy district on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. The assistance aims to support self employment and family livelihoods.

Azharuddin also gave generators and tool kits to 13 members of the Turk Kasha Muslim community. Each beneficiary got equipment worth Rs 60,000 under the community rehabilitation scheme. He asked women to use sewing machines, generators and tool kits to build independent livelihoods.

Rangareddy, he said, has become one of the country's prosperous districts because of its wide industrial base. More industrial jobs are opening up, and women should use these opportunities. He recalled his mother stitching clothes for him in childhood and said modern sewing machines are easier to use.

The minister said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has given special attention to minority women's economic development. He also mentioned that the CM quickly approved compensation for families affected by the Madina bus fire and that Rs 7 crore was sanctioned for Haj arrangements.

Using a cricket analogy, Azharuddin said he was a Test player and promised to score a century on funding demands from leaders. He stressed self reliance and urged community elders to guide young people, especially in Hyderabad's Old City, towards education, skills and employment.

TGMFC chairman Mohammed Obedulla Kotwal thanked the CM and minister. Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, Chief Whip and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, Rajendranagar MLA T. Prakash Goud, MLC Boggarapu Dayanand and district officials attended the event.
