Solar Energy Adoption Grows in Southern Odisha

Southern Odisha is shifting to clean energy as families use PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. By August 12, 2026, 54,390 families applied for the scheme. 22,242 installations are finished. Ganjam district leads with 14,278 installations.

The Utility-Led Aggregation Model makes this change affordable. Families can install a 1 kW system for ₹1,875. Also, those getting 2 kW or 3 kW systems receive money help of ₹1.10 lakh and ₹1.38 lakh. This includes the highest state-level subsidy in India.
