Smart Meter Installation Progress in Dimapur

Dimapur has made progress under Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. Officials report that over 21,500 smart consumer meters are now installed in the district. This scheme helps improve power reliability and reduces technical losses.

Infrastructure updates

A recent District Electricity Committee meeting confirmed that infrastructure projects worth 459.22 crore rupees have been approved for the region. These funds cover required upgrades like new 11 kV lines and distribution transformers. Although some residents are hesitant, authorities are working to build awareness to make the rollout smooth.

The committee also reviewed PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Records show that 473 rooftop solar installations are complete, giving a total capacity of 1.58 MW. Reports indicate that over 115 crore rupees from central government funds have been used to support these power improvements.
