Ruby Devi's Success Story Through SJY and PM-AJAY Schemes

Ruby Devi is a 32-year-old from Vaishali, Bihar. She went from working as a daily-wage labourer to owning a grocery store. After her husband passed away in 2016, she struggled to support her two children. Her situation improved after she joined the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme (SJY).

How support helped her business

The scheme provided business training for three days. She also received ₹54,000 to help set up her shop and cover food costs. She got another ₹17,000 through the PM-AJAY scheme and ₹10,000 from the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana. These funds helped her monthly income grow from ₹2,000-₹3,000 to about ₹15,000-₹20,000. Now, her business is worth ₹1,45,640. She also uses other welfare services, such as her ration card and Ayushman card.
