PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Loan and Skill Support Details

PM Vishwakarma Yojana started on September 17, 2023, to give support to traditional artisans and craftspeople across India. By June 30, 2026, the MSME Ministry dashboard showed 30 lakh registrations and 5,99,284 approved loans. This scheme covers 18 traditional trades, such as carpenters, potters, and weavers, and focuses on people working in the unorganised sector.

Scheme benefits and training

Eligible people can get collateral-free business loans of up to ₹3 lakh at a low interest rate of 5% each year. The loan comes in two stages. You get up to ₹1 lakh for 18 months, and then up to ₹2 lakh for 30 months. Along with the loan, the scheme gives a toolkit incentive of up to ₹15,000, daily training money of ₹500, and help with marketing.

To apply, you must be at least 18 years old and work in one of the 18 covered trades. Only one person per family can apply for the scheme, and government employees cannot join. You can apply at local Common Service Centres or through the official government portal.
