PIB Organises Vartalap Media Workshop on Central Welfare Schemes in Amritsar

PIB Jalandhar held a Vartalap media workshop in Amritsar to discuss how Union Government schemes affect local people. Officials said that National Highways Authority of India is managing 12 road projects in the district worth ₹5,668 crore. Out of these, 9 are already finished. Citizens can call the 1033 helpline if they need emergency road help.

Health and financial support

Health department officials shared that 178 Health and Wellness Clinics operate in Amritsar. These clinics support programs like Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram, Janani Suraksha Yojana, and national immunisation programs.

The workshop also covered financial support options. These include Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana. These schemes provide affordable insurance and pension benefits to eligible citizens through local banks and post offices. Experts also spoke about the importance of Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan in helping the youth.
