Odisha Selects 2,033 Villages for PMAGY Development

Odisha government has picked 2,033 villages across all districts for development under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana. This scheme will run for two years, starting in 2026-27.

The central government will give Rs 21 lakh to each of these villages. This money is split into two parts. Rs 20 lakh covers important infrastructure needs that other schemes do not reach. The remaining Rs 1 lakh is for running costs. The scheme helps with village development, work options, and skill training for people living there.

Development strategy

Chief Secretary Anu Garg led a meeting to plan the rollout. This follows work from 2025-26, when 1,519 villages were named model villages.
