Odisha Ranks 7th in National Rooftop Solar Installations

Odisha climbed to 7th place in the national rankings for rooftop solar from 13th. PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana helps the state reach this goal, with over 1.5 lakh systems installed. By August 2026, Odisha finished installing about 1.74 lakh rooftop solar systems and received more than 3.12 lakh applications.

Solar subsidy details

The state provides extra money to help families. Eligible households can get a total subsidy of ₹1.38 lakh for a 3 kWp system. Odisha aims for 3 lakh installations by 2027 to make solar energy common in urban and rural homes. Local electricity companies like TPCODL and TPWODL work on the ground to make the process easy for everyone.
