Odisha Plans 30,000 Affordable Homes Under PMAY-U 2.0

Odisha plans to build 25,000 to 30,000 affordable houses and 5,000 rental homes in different urban areas. State Urban Housing Mission is hiring firms to write project reports and give technical support for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0.

Project Focus and Features

Cities like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur will get many of these new homes. Consultants will manage tasks from checking sites and creating designs to getting approvals. The government focuses on climate-resilient housing. These homes will include solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and green building tech.

State officials submitted a plan for 6,236 houses for this phase. The Centre extended the deadline for the first version of the scheme until September 2026.
