Odisha Mandates 24x7 Help Desks for Ayushman Bharat Hospitals

Odisha government released new instructions for all hospitals part of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY-GJAY). Hospitals must run a 24x7 help desk near the main entry. This desk will help cardholders and provide details on free emergency treatment under PM-RAHAT.

Required System Upgrades

State Health Assurance Society CEO Brundha D set a deadline of August 31 for hospitals. Hospitals must link four systems with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission software. These include the Hospital Management Information System, ABHA-based medical records, and the facility and professional registries.

Hospitals must appoint Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras to run these desks at all hours. This makes sure eligible people get support easily. Failure to follow these rules will lead to the stopping of scheme incentives. Hospitals might also face removal from the empanelment list.
