Odisha Launches Mission-Mode Nutrition Drive for 18 Districts

Odisha is launching Mukhyamantri Sampurna Pushti Yojana under Odisha Poshan Mission. It focuses on 18 high-burden districts to fight malnutrition. The scheme helps mothers and children, especially during the first 1,000 days of life, to reduce cases of severe underweight in kids. This work supports women welfare schemes to improve health.

Scheme Funding and Infrastructure

The state has set aside ₹360.68 crore for 2026-27 and 2027-28. This money pays for healthy food, performance rewards, and digital monitoring through Poshan Tracker. Also, Samruddha Anganwadi Yojana will build or upgrade 23,088 Anganwadi centres over the next five years. This makes sure children have safe, friendly spaces near their homes. These efforts are part of schemes launched by PM Narendra Modi to improve social infrastructure.

The main focus areas include finding nutrition needs early, adding nutrients to food, and fixing micronutrient shortages. Officials confirmed this mission will cover 100 priority ICDS projects and areas with vulnerable tribal groups. This will lead to clear health improvements across the state.
