Odisha Launches Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scholarship for SC and ST Students

Odisha government launched Bidesh Sikhyabruti scholarship scheme to help talented SC and ST students pursue postgraduate and PhD studies in other countries. As part of Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protsahan Yojana, this scheme will support 50 students every year.

Application details and eligibility

Eligible students can apply through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal between August 18 and August 31, 2026. To qualify, you must be a permanent resident of Odisha and have a family income below 12 lakh rupees per year. You also need an unconditional admission letter from a university ranked in the top 200 QS rankings.

The scheme offers money help up to 25 lakh rupees each year, with a total limit of 50 lakh rupees for the full course. This money covers treatment costs, living, and travel. Note that this is a one-time benefit. You cannot get this while receiving other government support, like Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojana or Vyasakabi Fakir Mohan Bhasabruti Scholarship.
