Odisha Governor Calls for University-Led Rural Development

Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati wants state universities to adopt at least one village to help with local income. During a meeting at Centurion University, he said that colleges must work as a link between rural areas and government schemes.

Universities should help villagers get benefits from schemes like PM Mudra Yojana, Chief Minister's Kamadhenu Yojana, and PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The Governor said that training programs should focus on starting long-term businesses instead of just skill training.

University role in rural growth

He told vice-chancellors to look at the local economic potential of their areas instead of copying what others have done. This plan aims to improve rural areas by using college resources to meet local needs.
