Odisha Extends Six Rural Road Schemes with Rs 29,627 Crore Outlay

Odisha government extended six rural connectivity schemes under Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana. This work runs from 2026-27 to 2030-31 to improve road and bridge networks in remote, tribal, and hilly areas.

Infrastructure project details

The government set aside a budget of ₹29,627.55 crore to build or repair nearly 90,000 km of roads. Setu Bandhan Yojana receives the largest share of ₹11,800 crore to build bridges and fix missing links. Other schemes include improving current Rural Development roads, the Transferred Roads Improvement Programme, and efforts to connect isolated villages. These projects include five years of regular maintenance and strict quality checks by a third party to make sure the work lasts.
